- Mission Statement
All members of the Bartlett School community are accountable for working as partners in a supportive environment to provide instruction that guides all students in acquiring the skills and knowledge, while developing the independence needed for continuous learning.
- Vision Statement
We shall create a quality learning community that provides and promotes diverse educational opportunities for all.
- Our Beliefs
We believe...all children can learn; the classroom is a place where students' ideas are valued and opportunities are provided for all students to engage in active learning; expectations should be high, consistent, and clearly defined;students, parents, faculty and community should share expectations and goals to maximize success; all members of the school community are accountable for their own roles in learning; staff development should be on-going and should guide teachers to reflect upon and strengthen practice; assessments should be on-going, authentic, and used to focus instruction; and resources should support learning, be current, readily available, and provide real-world connections.
Welcome to Bartlett Elementary
Dear Bartlett Families,
Whether this will be your first year at Bartlett Elementary or you are returning to our school community, the staff and myself would like to extend our warmest welcome. I could not be more excited to be working alongside Bartlett's amazing staff and wonderful families.
This is my fourth year at Bartlett Elementary and my fifteenth year as an educator. After graduating from Alma College, I taught at Brummer and Hardy Elementary Schools. During this time, I obtained my Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University and an Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from Oakland University. After teaching a variety of levels from fifth grade to first grade, I was hired as a principal in Wayne-Westland. It continues to be a pleasure to be in South Lyon as the principal of Bartlett.
Bartlett Elementary is an incredible school with a strong focus on teaching and learning. I look forward to working with you so that we can continue our journey toward student success. I welcome you to stop by the office, my door is always open. Together, we can make this a wonderful school year!Emily Testani, Principal
